Destination: Phang Nga Bay
08.13 N 098.33 E
Shallow bay to the north east of Phuket Island. Some thirty islands, all bar one of them uninhabited. Several of the islands feature sea caves and "hongs" (inner island lagoons) which can be safely explored on foot or by kayak.
The area is famous for the huge grotesquely shaped solitary limestone formations which rise here and there from the shallow seas. Some fifteen rivers, large and small flow into the Phang Nga Bay opening up even more opportunities for exploring.
